Bali Natural and Cultural Tours Trekking

Sambangan

Let’s explore North Bali with us. One of the many exciting spots is Aling-Aling Waterfall in Sambangan Village. It is an interesting place for trekking and adventure dubbed as Sambangan Secret Garden. Besides Aling-Aling Waterfall, the village also possesses several more waterfalls, rice paddies, and a holy water that has five different colors.

Our journey will begin from Cengana rice terraces where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the rice fields. The sea of North Bali will also be in sight during our trip there. Along the way, you will spot a wide range of plantations, such as rambutans, bananas, clove, cocoa, palm sugar and coffee among others. You are invited to experience the entire local environment first hand by visiting a local home for a rest and a drink. Our next stop will be Blue Lagoon, a natural swimming pool with clean and clear water which serves as a great place for relaxation and purification.

From there, we will walk along the river and arrive at Aling-Aling Waterfall (35 m), which is also regarded as a sacred area by the locals. To complete our journey, we can have more sliding and jumping at Kroya Waterfall (12 m), Kembar Waterfall (10 m) and Pucuk Waterfall (15 m).

Sekumpul Waterfall

On another location in North Bali, there is also another very beautiful waterfall called Sekumpul Waterfall in Sekumpul Village. In total, there are seven waterfalls at the site. However, only two waterfalls are supplied by water year-round. To reach Sekumpul Waterfall, first we have to come to Sekumpul village, do a bit of long trekking, and then go down a hundred stairs, and cross a river. Our effort will be well rewarded when we finally reach the waterfall, or even before.

At a gazebo located not far from the waterfall, we can take a rest for a moment before we continue our trekking. Around the gazebo, there are many plantations which the locals own, such as clove, cacao, rambutan and durian trees. After walking through the rice fields, we will arrive at the Sekumpul Waterfall.

The unique thing about Sekumpul Waterfall besides being twin waterfalls is the different color of water during the wet season. One waterfall will be clear due to its source being  a water spring, meanwhile the other one will be muddy (brown) due to its source being a river. Both waterfalls are captivating and have amazing panoramic views.
